Jennifer & Ryder

Photography by: DC Stanley

Wedding Date: January 16, 2016

After meeting through mutual friends in college, Ryder knew Jennifer was the one for him. When the time came to propose, he planned a romantic vacation for two in Key West, Florida. Their second night out, while awaiting their table at the bar overlooking the ocean, Ryder’s nerves caught Jennifer’s attention. Ryder went to ask for more limes for Jennifer’s drink, but little did she know, he was secretly asking the waitress to take pictures of their surprise engagement! When Ryder returned, he got down on one knee and asked Jennifer to spend the rest of her life with him.

Jennifer and Ryder both love the beach and have always wanted a tropical destination wedding. When they had visited Cabo once before, they fell in love with Pueblo Bonita Pacifica Golf and Spa Resort in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. The resort is a beautiful beachfront property overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Jennifer walked down the sandy aisle in an impressive strapless gown found at Weddings by Debbie in Houston, Texas. She attached charms that belonged to her grandmother to her bridal bouquet for a special keepsake on her big day. The couple decided on a cupcake tower, instead of the traditional wedding cake.

Jennifer and Ryder honeymooned in the luxurious Bucuti and Tara Resort in Aruba right on Manchebo Beach.

Bride’s Advice:

I learned to see all of my options in person. I had them show me our inclusive package at the hotel and requested separate dressing rooms for our guests. Know that not everyone will RSVP, it's stressful, but you will have to contact him or her, in the end, and ask if they will be joining. Plan for people to bring uninvited guests, people might bring unannounced dates. Stand back with your new spouse during your big day and view all of the guests having a blast during the party, they are all there for you all! It's amazing to see so much love in one room. There are also things going on that you didn't remember planning or picking out. If possible eat somewhere private with your new spouse. We didn't do that and we barely were able to eat since everyone is coming up wanting to talk.
