You never know when an ordinary day could lead to an extraordinary moment. For Virginia, it all started at work when David transferred into her department. Within just a month, he asked her out for coffee, breaking her personal rule of never dating a coworker.
Their first date lasted over four hours, and they were eventually asked to leave when the café closed. Something just clicked between them, and David wasted no time, he asked her out again the very next day.
As their relationship blossomed, David planned a surprise ski trip. On the first day of the vacation, after a perfect day on the slopes, he got down on one knee and proposed. Virginia was caught completely off guard! A few days later, they announced their engagement on April Fool’s Day, and fittingly, decided to make their wedding date one year later, on April 1st.
Virginia, who grew up sailing at the Houston Yacht Club, introduced David to her passion, and it quickly became something they both loved. Naturally, the Houston Yacht Club became the perfect venue for their wedding, offering stunning indoor and outdoor spaces, delicious food, and spacious rooms for the bridal party to get ready.
Their rehearsal dinner was held at Villa Capri in Clear Lake, a cozy and intimate setting. Virginia’s gown and veil, both from the Alyssa collection by Kitty Chen Couture, were purchased at La Reve Bridal Salon. For their cake, Virginia and David Discovered M.E.B. Cakes at the Bridal Extravaganza and were sold after a tasting. “While all the flavors were amazing, the red velvet and classic almond cake stole the show!” Virginia says.
Virginia’s Bridal advice: “Hire a planner/coordinator! Kayla was our “month of” coordinator and she made everything run seamlessly, helped calm nerves, and navigate the stress of those final weeks!”
