Tara & Kory

Tara Walker & Kory Ryan

During the summer of 2014, Tara and Kory were invited to a pool party by a mutual friend who knew they would hit it off. As Kory was leaving the party, he managed get Tara’s phone number and three days later they had their first date.

Using a friend’s birthday party as a cover, Kory was able to get Tara to help him set up her own proposal. Kory asked Tara to accompany him to the rooftop of Hotel Settles to set up decorations. Once they made it to the top Tara saw nothing to be set up for a party, instead she found Kory holding her hand and telling her how much he loved her. Tara says the rest is all a blur, but knows she yelled out yes!

The couple had a private ceremony at the Pimalai Resort in Koh Lanta, Thailand. Tara and Kory fell in love with this resort after staying there once before and turned their dreams into a reality when they decided to have their wedding here.

A month after their private ceremony, the couple held a reception for friends and family. Being the location that Tara and Kory got engaged, as well as being owned by Kory’s brother Tara and Kory only found It fitting to have their reception at Hotel Settles. The hotel can be described as a wonderful gem that sits out in the dusty fields of Texas.

For the reception, Tara picked a stunning asymmetrical gown from the Likely brand at Revolve.

The couple bought a gorgeous white cake with floral decorations from Audrey's Cakes out of Big Spring, Texas.

Unique Details: The couple had a seat yourself reception, with no seating chart. Also, at their reception was a 360 photobooth.

Tara's Advice: "Enjoy every moment because it goes by so fast. It’s one of the only times in your life where you’ll have all your friends and family under one roof. Even though there is a lot going on take time to step back and relish it. Because it’s such an important time we as women tend to put a lot of pressure on it. My best advice when planning is to rely on the vendors to do their job if you have hired someone to provide a service have faith it will get done. Don’t waste time worrying about it, just enjoy the time with your husband, family, and friends, and have fun!"
